City Car Club pay-as-you-go cars

The University is a corporate member of City Car Club, a car club which provides pay-as-you-go cars. Two of their cars are parked on campus (behind Security) for the use of University staff and students. More cars are available across Leeds and other major cities throughout the UK.

All prices are subject to change by City Car Club and you must check the company's website for current charges.

Who can use the Car Club?

Most people with limited endorsements/claims who are over 19 years old can become a member of City Car Club. The University has a corporate scheme which University staff can use for work purposes. Staff who use City Car Club for work can also register to use it privately, too. Furthermore everybody, staff and students alike, can use City Car Club solely in a personal capacity. Only staff who need a car for business can take advantage of the corporate scheme. See below for details relating to each type of membership.

How do registrations and bookings work?

Both registration and bookings can be made via City Car Club website or over the phone on 0845 330 1234. When applying for membership your driving records will be checked through the DVLA so please allow 2 days between applying and first time use. For corporate use, you will need your university email address, payroll number, your department and the name of its finance manager. After your application has been approved, you will receive a City Car Club membership card and can book a car at anytime. Bookings can be made online or over the phone, 6 months or 30 seconds in advance and for a minimum of 30 minutes, then in 15 minute increments thereafter.
