As can be seen in the chart below, there have been gradual reductions up to the period 2008/09. The rise since this time can be attributed to the addition of residential data, which had been omitted in previous years and also the addition of new buildings on campus.

Against 2004 baseline data Transport Plan targets for every three years are:
5% reduction in commuting of single car drivers - achieved 24% for staff and 14% for students
5% increase in staff walking - achieved increase of 40%
5% increase in staff using public transport - achieved increase of 24%
5% reduction of work-related car journeys - achieved reduction of 9%
