At the 98th Annual Conference of the College Art Association of America, 10th - 13th February which will be held in Chicago, Professor Griselda Pollock will receive the second annual award for Distinction in Feminist Scholarship and Research in Art History.
Each year the CAA conference draws more than 4,000 art professionals from throughout the United States and abroad, including art historians, visual artists, students, educators, art-museum curators, collectors, and art critics. The program will include three days of presentations and panel discussions on art history and visual culture; career-development workshops, mentoring, and job interviews with colleges and universities; a Book and Trade Fair of 120 academic and trade art publishers and artist-materials distributors; and a host of special events throughout the Chicago area.
The Distinguished Scholars awards are presented as a result of nomination and peer review within the international membership of the CAA.
Several members of the School of Fine Art History of Art and Cultural Studies are attending the conference as convernors of panels: Prof Catherine Karkov and Dr Eva Frojmovic (Directors of the Postcolonialising the Medieval AHRC Network), or as speakers: Dr Gail Day, Dr Will Rea, Dr Miranda Mason, and Michelle Gewurtz, both the latter being doctoral students of Professor Pollock
