A new programme of artist book related events

This programme continues with 'From Book to Book', an exhibition of artists' books at Leeds City Art Gallery, 6 March – 20 April 2008.

The theme is a response to books themselves. Gathered together in the exhibition, the books will present a consideration and celebration of the book and an acknowledgment of the connections from book to book.

From Book to Book will consist of new book works created specifically for the show by local, national and international artists. This could be to the form of a book, to the physicality of volume and content, of paper and printing, of structure and sequence, or may be to reading in general, a distinct piece of writing or the presence of books, whether on home bookshelves, in libraries and or in specialist collections. Gathered together in the exhibition, they will present a consideration and celebration of the book and an acknowledgement of the connections from book to book. In keeping with the essential nature of the medium, visitors will be able to handle all of the books in the exhibition.
