Links

The University of Leeds provides training and development via several central services, which is complemented by the Faculty provision.

For Research Postgraduates, the Researcher Training & Development site gives links to all the relevant sites within the University.

Research Staff can take advantage of opportunities for all staff, as shown on the SDDU website. The Research section of SDDU website contains courses specifically for Research Staff, plus other useful information for researchers. The above sites all link to a search engine which includes workshops run by ISS , the Library , and Careers Centre.

Other sites of particular interest include:

  • UK GRAD - resources and tips for researchers, background on national policy developments for researchers, and details of residential personal development programmes for PhD students, which Research Staff can join as Mentors.
  • Researchers in Residence - a scheme for Research Council-funded researchers to spend limited time in schools, inspiring people about research.
  • Some Research Councils provide training opportunities for researchers
  • Piled High and Deeper - a lighter view of PhD research, in comic strip format
  • National Postgraduate Committee
