Launch of Leeds Centre for Medical Humanities
The interdisciplinary Leeds Centre for Medical Humanities, located in the School of English, will have its official launch on Monday February 20th.
The event will be introduced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Michael Arthur, who will be followed by special guest Prof. Lennard J Davis of the University of Illinois at Chicago, talking on 'Depression and Disability'. The Centre combines research perspectives into medicine and healthcare from disciplines in the Faculties of Arts and Medicine & Health, and involves working with academic and non-academic partners locally, nationally and internationally. The launch will be attended by members of the NHS, community health groups and creative arts organisations in Leeds, as well as partner universities from both the UK and abroad.
