NEWS

New Gallery Blog! We've moved to: http://blog.library.leeds.ac.uk/blog/art-gallery. This new home for the blog promises to be more user friendly and interactive so you'll finally be able to comment on our posts. Please be kind...

  • To coincide with National Poetry Day 2012 (4 October), the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery are launching a new project, to celebrate and commemorate the wonderful poetry produced in its popular ‘Write Me a Picture’ creative writing workshops over the last 2 years.

If you’ve written a poem about an artwork in the Gallery’s collection, or always wanted to, why not send in your submission, or attend the forthcoming workshop on the 14 April to find out what it’s all about? The winners will have the opportunity to read (or have their poems read) for a recording, which will be placed alongside their chosen artwork via the wonders of QR-code technology. The poems will be available to listen to for a limited period.

Please send all submissions to Suzannah Evans, ‘Write Me a Picture’ workshop tutor, at: evans.suzie@googlemail.com. Deadline for submissions is Friday the 20 July 2012.
