Please inform Student Administration immediately if your name is incorrectly recorded on the University system. The name which will appear on your certificate will be that recorded on the University system, which should be all the names shown on your birth certificate or other legal document.

Certificates cannot be issued with a name which in any way differs from that provided to the University on registration documents unless you can provide proof that this is incorrect. You should bring proof of your correct legal name to Student Administration, Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Building, University of Leeds, Leeds, LS2 9JT. Alternatively you can send documents to the above address or call 0113 343 4126 to speak to a member of the Operations Section . Proof of your legal name should be a birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport or driving licence.

Any changes to names must be made well before you are awarded as after you are awarded amendments cannot be made. The deadline for pending finalists to change their full legal names on the University system is 22nd June 2012. It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that the details supplied to the University on registration documents are correct in every way.

Programme title and confirmation of award
Before your graduation you should have ensured that the programme title of your award is correct, it is also vital that you confirm that you have been officially awarded your degree. If you are due to receive your results in the Summer you can check your award status from the 2nd July 2012 for a limited time only on the portal. In the event that you have been unsuccessful, your invitation to attend a degree ceremony will be considered withdrawn.

Academic Appeals
If you intend to appeal or you are pursuing an appeal you must not have your degree conferred either at a ceremony or in absentia. This means that you must not attend a ceremony and must ensure that your certificate is not posted to you.  If you do your appeal will be void. Please refer to the Students' Handbook for full details of the Appeals Procedure and the action that you need to take.
