Taught Masters Degrees in History (MA)

You can choose from the following taught masters degrees:

(Note that we also run a Masters by Research programme)

All of these degrees:

  • train you in research methods
  • require you to research and write a 15,000-word dissertation on the subject(s) of your choice, with regular supervision
  • prepare you for doctoral research and attract external funding (our courses are recognised by AHRC)

Studying at this level may also be of interest to you if:

  • you are seeking to develop your interests in greater depth than is possible at undergraduate level
  • you desire an additional qualification for career development
  • you are a history enthusiast and want something interesting to do with your spare time
