The University’s 98 acre campus is minutes away from the centre of one the UK's biggest cities. But if you don’t know Leeds, you may not know how dynamic the city has become.

Lively and friendly

Leeds is the fastest growing city in the UK and home to over 750,000 people. It is located in the heart of the UK and is the regional capital of Yorkshire and the Humber. But despite the size of the city, it’s not too large to offer a friendly welcome.

The city has a rich cultural heritage with a wide range of theatres, museums, galleries and a thriving music scene. It is unrivalled in the north of England as a major shopping destination and centre for leisure, entertainment and nightlife.

Business and transport links

The city is well served by local transport, and extensive coach and rail services connect Leeds with the rest of the UK. Leeds Bradford International Airport also has regular flights to an increasing number of destinations across Europe.

The regional headquarters of several government departments, utilities providers and the NHS are all based in Leeds, as well as financial services organisations which have made Leeds the financial capital of the north. It is also famous as the top legal centre in the UK outside London.

Historic, green city

With wide expanses of parkland and areas of natural beauty, Leeds is an extremely green city. We also have many areas of interest, from the national attractions of the Royal Armouries, to the fine mansions of Harewood House and Temple Newsam. Leeds is also within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, the Peak District, the Lake District and historic towns such as York, Harrogate, Ripon and Bradford.

Rich in history, with a diverse economy, thriving culture and a cosmopolitan atmosphere, Leeds is proud to be a city of regional, national and international importance.
