What is a Redeployment Service?
The Redeployment Service has been developed to provide a centralised resource for use by recruiting departments to source staff who may be suitable for their vacancy. Being redeployed means that the University retains your valuable skills and knowledge and you continue to enjoy the benefit of working at the University of Leeds.
The Redeployment Service is integral to the University’s best practice approach on the management of fixed-term contracts and organisational change.
Am I eligible for redeployment?
There are a number of reasons why you could be eligible for redeployment, including:
- the role you are employed to do not continuing due to cessation of external funding;
- the role no longer being required due to organisational change;
- medical reasons, supported by Occupational Health;
- other substantial reason, such as an irretrievable breakdown in a working relationship.
To be eligible to use the Redeployment Service, you should have a minimum of 12 months service by the end of your current contract end date. Requests to join the Register will be considered on a case-by-case basis on the understanding that the University reserves the right to withhold access.
Staff whose roles are affected by organisational change should contact their Human Resources Manager to discuss eligibility as the minimum contract period above may be waived.
If you think you are eligible for redeployment you should contact your Human Resources Manager to discuss this further, or you can contact the Redeployment Service directly. Please note that the Redeployment Service is not for staff wanting a change of career.
For more information please see the section guidance for redeployees, read the FAQs and take a look at the details of staff currently on the redeployment register
Training and Support:
As a redeployee, you will be eligible for training and support, such as careers advice, CV writing and interview skills. The Redeployment Service can also arrange, for redeployees, additional training with ISS, SDDU and the Logik Centre.
