Join the Institute for Medieval Studies

The Institute for Medieval Studies, based in the University of Leeds, is one of the foremost groupings of medievalists. With members from Europe, North and South America, Australia and Japan, the IMS Membership scheme offers medievalists a variety of benefits.

There are two membership categories: Affiliate and Associate.

Affiliate Membership

  • FREE specialist medieval volume from Brepols Publishers. You can choose one book from a selection each year. [Volumes are valued between £13 and £68 (€19- €100/ US$23- US$126.50/ CAN$30- CAN$145)].
  • International Medieval Congress Discount. As a member, you will receive a discount of £15 (€22/ US$27/ CAN$35) on Registration for the IMC during the year of your membership.
  • Priority Mailing of IMC Programme.
  • Bulletin of International Research. The Bulletin includes IMS news, reviews and short articles on all aspects of Medieval Studies.
  • Access to the Brotherton Library, University of Leeds.

Associate Membership

  • ALL of the above PLUS access to the International Medieval Bibliography (IMB) Online (Jan- Dec of your year of membership). The IMB Online offers an unrivalled 310,000 records of articles, review articles & scholarly notes on all aspects of medieval studies, covering publications in 30 different languages and updated quarterly. Sophisticated search possibilities are enhanced with indexes of over 120,000 terms.
