Campus Accessibility

The University of Leeds and the IMC are committed to facilitating access to the campus for all delegates. Support for delegates with additional access requirements is available on request, but reasonable notice would be appreciated and is most certainly required by 14 May 2017. We cannot guarantee support unless we are informed of any additional requirements before this date.

To see all disabled access points to buildings on the University of Leeds campus, please use the Facilities filter on our Campus map.

For more information on campus accessibility please contact the IMC administration.

Disabled Parking

On-campus parking in disabled bays is available for those in possession of a valid EU blue badge, or international equivalent for those outside the EU. This can be booked when registering and will cost £7 per day. You will need to display your blue badge as well as your parking permit. Please note that possession of a parking permit does not reserve a particular parking space. A map indicating the location of the disabled parking spaces on the University campus can be supplied on request.

Accessible Accommodation

Fully accessible accommodation is available at Storm Jameson Court, part of Charles Morris Hall, which offers rooms suitable for those with mobility difficulties, visual impairments, or hearing difficulties. We recommend booking early if you require accessible accommodation, and providing as much detail as possible when making your booking so that we can help with any requirements you may have.

Accessible Session Rooms

All of the IMC session rooms are wheelchair accessible; please contact the IMC or ask at the IMC Information Desk for details of accessible routes on campus.

Many session rooms contain infrared assistive listening systems. If you require the use of the assistive listening system please contact the IMC in advance to hire a receiver. For rooms that do not have an installed assistive listening system the IMC can provide a portable induction loop. Please contact the IMC well in advance if you wish to use this service.

Accessible Entrance to the Parkinson Building

Access for wheelchairs to the Parkinson Building, the main Congress reception area, is located at the back of the building.

  • Facing the main entrance to the Parkinson Building, turn left and pass around the building towards the arches.
  • Go through the arches and turn right.
  • Go through a second arch, made of brick.
  • Take the ramp to your right and use the button-operated automatic door.
  • Turn left inside the building and follow the corridor to the right where you will see a lift.
  • Take the lift, select '0' and the lift will take you to the Parkinson Court where you will find the IMC Bookfair, Library, and IMC Information Desk.

Maps of the accessible routes to the Parkinson Building and other IMC buildings are available on request.
