University Accommodation | On-campus | Off-campus | Check-in and length of stay

A variety of accommodation can be booked when registering for the IMC 2017. Bedding, towels, tea and coffee-making facilities, and breakfast are provided for all residents booking accommodation through the IMC. All listed options below are subject to availability, therefore we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Accommodation is available on and off campus in University Halls of Residence and at city centre hotels. Accessible accommodation is limited and is only available on campus in Storm Jameson Court, part of Charles Morris Hall, and at local hotels. For more information go to Campus Accessibility.

IMC family accommodation is available at city centre hotels. Please note that University Halls of Residence cannot cater for children. For more information about bringing children, go to Children at the IMC.

University Accommodation

University Halls of Residence offer rooms for single occupancy only. Rooms cannot be shared, but if you would like to be accommodated close to a friend or family member, please make this clear when you register and we will endeavour to place you adjacent to each other.

Delegates staying in University Halls of Residence will have access to selected communal kitchen and living areas. However, accommodation in University Halls of Residence is not suitable for self-catering as the size of the kitchen and the facilities provided can vary. No cookery equipment, crockery, or cutlery is provided.

Internet access is available in all University Halls of Residence via WiFi. Free use of University’s sports facilities, gym, and swimming pool (theEdge) is included for all delegates staying in University Halls of Residence.

On-Campus Accommodation

Charles Morris Hall

Charles Morris Hall comprises three buildings: Storm Jameson Court, Dobree House, and Whetton House. All three are located close together on the west of the University campus, just a few minutes walk from the IMC session rooms.

Storm Jameson Court was opened in 2010 and offers award-winning University accommodation. Storm Jameson Court can accommodate 450 delegates, and all rooms have private shower rooms. Kitchen and lounge areas are shared between 6-8 rooms.

Storm Jameson Court is the only fully accessible accommodation on campus. 23 accessible rooms are available there; these are suitable for those with mobility difficulties, visual impairments, or hearing difficulties. If you require accessible accommodation, please book as soon as possible and detail your access requirements when you register.

Dobree House and Whetton House offer purpose-built University accommodation. There is a washbasin in every room, with a shower and toilet shared between two bedrooms. Kitchen and lounge areas are shared between flats of approximately 11 rooms.

Henry Price Residences

Located on the western edge of the University campus and similar in layout to Dobree House and Whetton House, Henry Price Residences offers purpose-built university accommodation with shower and toilet facilities shared between two bedrooms. Kitchen and lounge areas are shared between flats of approximately 9 rooms.

Lyddon Hall

Lyddon Hall is located in the heart of the University campus, in a converted 19th-century main hall and an adjacent annexe of converted 19th-century townhouses. Lyddon Hall offers 129 rooms with access to shared shower and toilet facilities between 3-4 rooms. Kitchenettes are available for guest use and are shared between 5-9 bedrooms. There are two common rooms available for residents’ use.

Ellerslie Hall

Ellerslie Hall is situated in a row of converted 19th-century townhouses and comprises 88 rooms, of which 32 have a private bathroom. Most rooms have their own washbasin, with shower and toilet facilities shared between 4-5 rooms. Kitchenettes are available for guest use. Ellerslie Hall is located close to Charles Morris Hall and Lyddon Hall.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the University Refectory for all those staying on campus, and in the Devonshire Hall Dining Room for those staying in Devonshire Hall.

Devonshire Hall

Devonshire Hall is located 1.4 km (0.9 miles) from the University campus. Devonshire Hall was built in the early 20th century in a 17th-century style, and is situated in a tranquil neighbourhood. Some 172 rooms with shared bathrooms are available. Breakfast is served in the Devonshire Hall dining room.

Some parking is available on-site and on adjacent streets without the need for a permit. However, a parking space is not guaranteed.

Devonshire Hall is approximately 20 minutes walk from the University along a main road. Public buses between Devonshire Hall and the main campus run every few minutes.

Hotel Accommodation

The IMC has agreed special inclusive rates with nearby hotels for IMC delegates, which are suitable for a variety of budgets and include bed, breakfast, and unlimited internet access.

Delegates booking accomodation through the IMC will receive their registration pack upon checking in at their hotel and will not have to collect their registration pack at the Registration Pack Collection Desk on campus.

To take advantage of these special inclusive rates, delegates must book their hotel accommodation through the IMC Online Store or paper registration.

Twin / Double rooms are available in hotel accommodation. As we are required to provide the names of all guests the hotels, please let us know the name of the additional person if you are sharing your room.

Discovery Inn

The Discovery Inn is situated 1.6 km (1 mile) away from the University campus, a 20-minute walk. It offers twin and double rooms for either single or double occupancy. If you require a family room, this cannot be booked via the IMC; please contact the hotel directly.

Close to the railway station, the hotel is centrally-located and within walking distance of the University and city centre amenities. The hotel does not offer parking but there are public multi-storey car parks nearby. Delegates wishing to make use of these car parks cannot book parking through the IMC and will need to pay the car park directly.

The Holiday Inn Express is located just less than 2 km (1¼ miles) from the south of the University campus, a 25-minute walk. It offers mid-price accommodation in single, twin, or double bedrooms. The Holiday Inn Express also offers a number of family bedrooms.

The Ibis Hotel is located 2 km (1 ¼ miles) to the south of the University campus, a 25-minute walk. It offers budget to mid-price accommodation in single, double, or twin bedrooms. The Ibis Hotel also offers inter-connecting bedrooms, ideal for families, as well as travel cots for infants.

The Queen's Hotel

The Queens Hotel is located 1.6 km (1 mile) from the University campus, a 20-minute walk. It is a four-star hotel which offers twin and double rooms for either single or double occupancy. It does not have any interconnecting family rooms available.

The hotel is situated close to the railway station, shops, bars and restaurants of the city centre. There are a number of car parking spaces available at the Queens Hotel which carry an additional charge.

As spaces are limited, we recommend contacting the hotel directly in advance of your stay in order to avoid disappointment. Parking cannot be booked through the IMC.

Unite - The Plaza

The Plaza is located 1.1km (0.6 miles) from the University campus, a 15 minute walk. It offers student accommodation, well located for the Congress. The Plaza can accommodate 100 delegates, and all rooms have private toilet and shower rooms. Kitchen and lounge areas are shared between 6 rooms.

A cold continental breakfast will be available daily in the main foyer area, located next to the reception.

Check-in and length of stay

Checking in

You can check into your room any time after 14.00 on the first day of your stay. If you arrive early, you will be able to leave your luggage at your hall of residence or hotel.

If you book your accommodation through the IMC you will be able to collect your registration pack immediately upon arrival at your accommodation in Leeds. If you do not book accommodation through the IMC you will need to collect your registration pack at the Registration Pack Collection Desk.

All on-campus accommodation will provide a 24 hour reception service. Therefore arriving late at night will not be a problem. When registering it is possible to let the IMC Administration know your estimated time of arrival. This will be passed on to the accommodation staff so they will know to expect individuals arriving late at night.

Longer stays

The only University accommodation the IMC can offer after 6 July 2017 (Thu) is B&B Charles Morris Hall - Storm Jameson Court Ensuite 7 July 2017 (Fri) - 10 July 2017 (Mon). These rooms are not available on the Online Store and must be booked through a form you may request from us.

Any Storm Jameson Court Ensuite rooms prior to 30 June 2017 (Fri) or after 10 July 2017 (Mon) must be booked privately through the MEETinLEEDS website. Please notify the IMC Administration staff of your extended stay to place a request to remain in the same room for the entire duration of your stay.
