Computing Facilities

On registration IMC delegates will be allocated a unique username and password, which is printed on the back of the name badge. This combination allows access to the Wi-Fi, desktop computers, photocopying, and printing facilities in the computer clusters and libraries.

Terms and Conditions

By completing your registration you will be agreeing to the University of Leeds 'Conditions of Use of Computer Systems for Visitors', as detailed on the information sheet provided with the username and password.

Wireless Internet

The individual username and password provided by the IMC allows access to the University of Leeds’ Conference and Events wireless network named MEETinLEEDS.

The University of Leeds also uses the Eduroam wireless network. Delegates who are registered with Eduroam through their home institution will be able to connect through Eduroam to the University of Leeds network. Please note that Eduroam is supported by the delegates' home institutions and not by the University of Leeds. The University of Leeds Conditions of use of computer systems for visitors apply.

Computer Clusters

There are two computer clusters available for IMC delegates: the Woolhouse Cluster in the Parkinson Building, and the 24-hour Textiles Cluster.

Find available computer clusters on the Networking Areas and Social Spaces Map and the Parkinson Building Basement Plan

The desktop computers available in the computer clusters run Windows, Microsoft Office 2013, and the browsers Internet Explorer 10 and Google Chrome. No email client software is loaded on these computers; email may only be accessed through web-based applications.

Please be aware that the computers may not be suitable for some applications or completely compatible with all individual files. Apple Macintosh systems are not catered for or supported on-site, and PCs may not necessarily accept all USB memory sticks.
