Finding funding for postgraduate study

The Institute can advise on what scholarships are available (see sources
of funding), and on part-time work. Application forms for all University of Leeds scholarships
can be obtained from the University Scholarships Office. Applicants
for all scholarships are advised to consult our guidance pamphlet.
All students should also study the University of Leeds booklet containing
information on Scholarships and Funding.
IMS departmental scholarships and bursaries are available. For details of current availability, please contact the IMS Teaching and Postgraduate secretary at medieval-studies@leeds.ac.uk. For details of the IMS Research Support Fund, please click here.
It is worth exploring a variety of possible sources of funding, especially since the decisions on many University of Leeds scholarships may only be made by the University in mid-May or June. Alternative sources of funding may include Student Loans or Fulbright Scholarships (for US applicants). The Institute will be happy to help you explore these and any other options. The Faculty's Graduate School offers advice for funding.
