Knowledge Transfer Partnerships How can we help your business?

How can we support innovation and growth in your business?

The University of Leeds is very actively involved in the government backed business support scheme, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).  Our dedicated KTP team provides support for projects from inception, through funding proposal generation to project closure.

What are KTPs?

KTPs offer organisations a collaborative opportunity to access specialist knowledge and expertise to tackle a strategically important opportunity or challenge.  This is achieved by establishing a 2-3 year project focused on achieving targeted outcomes by embedding new knowledge and capabilities in the organisation.  This involves jointly recruiting a recently graduate or postgraduate to work in your business to help solve the challenge.  The breadth of high level research available from academic partners in the nine faculties at the University of Leeds makes us an ideal partner.

What are the benefits?

Government funding is available to help organisations in several ways.  The scheme is focused on improving competitiveness and profitability and on fostering an innovation culture.  It also provides the opportunity to develop a new employee with senior management potential; new training and development opportunities for staff; and the chance to develop a strategic relationship with the University.

What types of organisations can be involved?

Any organisation that is a registered UK legal entity and can supply ratified accounts, such as businesses (including SME's), large not-for-profit organisations, charities, NHS Trusts, Councils etc.
