The aim of the scholarship is to encourage students from under-represented groups to embark on a postgraduate qualification. The job market is becoming progressively more competitive, and a postgraduate qualification will help set you apart and help you take advantage of potential career opportunities.
The Scholarships are funded by the generous donations from our alumni through the University of Leeds Footsteps Fund.
£5,000 paid in cash instalments when you are registered on your course (and we have verified this).
It is your responsibility to make arrangements to pay your fees to enable you to register on your course.
Then, if you are awarded a Leeds Masters Scholarship, it would be paid to you in cash instalments when you are registered on your course (and we have verified this).
To be eligible to apply for one of these scholarships you must meet all of the main criteria and one of the financial criteria.
You must meet all of the main criteria:
- commence a full-time, part-time or distance learning Masters programme at the University of Leeds beginning September 2019. This must lead directly to an MA, MBA, MEd, MMus, MPH, MRes, MSc or LLM qualification
- be a UK student paying postgraduate tuition fees at the UK rate
- not already hold a Masters degree
- not have your postgraduate tuition fees covered for you for example by an employer or public funding body (eg NHS/NHSBSA)
Financial criteriaTo be eligible to apply for the scholarship you must all also meet financial criteria. The criteria for entry in 2019 will be confirmed in spring 2019.
