Professor Michael Arthur is internationally renowned for his contribution to education and to medical research.

Since his appointment in 2004, he has galvanised the institution with the vision of a place in the world's top 50 universities by 2015 and a new strategy.

He is chair of the Russell Group and Commissioner for the US-UK Fulbright Commission.
