Matthew Knight

Matthew graduated in Economics from Cambridge University in 1977. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development, and has worked in the private, voluntary and health sectors.  Matthew is responsible for HR at the University including strategy, policy, advice and support, employment, recruitment, promotions and staff review, staff development, staff engagement, and
wellbeing and health and safety services.

Before joining the University in 1997, Matthew held senior personnel management and training posts with Esso Petroleum, Voluntary Service Overseas and York City Council. For seven years he was Director of Human Resources and Patient Administration with the York NHS Services Trust.
