First year accommodation

We have an impressive range of accommodation from modern, purpose-built apartments to converted mansions both on and off campus.

You can choose from catered and self-catered accommodation. Catered facilities give you the luxury of cooked, balanced meals as well as a great opportunity to meet people. Self-catered accommodation is best if you like to live more independently, but still want to be in a close knit student community with a lively social scene.

Living in our accommodation amongst fellow students studying different courses enables you to make friends and broaden your horizons. There are plenty of things for you to get involved with which will make your experience unforgettable.

Our guarantee to you

We guarantee* you an offer of a place in our accommodation for the year if you are:

• a first year undergraduate
• an international undergraduate (i.e. you pay fees at the international rate). You are guaranteed a place in our accommodation until you finish your course, provided you apply by the stated deadlines
• an undergraduate exchange student
• an international postgraduate student (i.e. you pay fees at the international rate) and you are new to Leeds

Beyond year one

Once you've completed your first year you are likely to join thousands of other students who move out into private residences in the nearby area. The University is a stone's-throw away from Hyde Park and Headingley where many students opt to live. These areas have numerous cafes, shops, bars and restaurants, which make for a vibrant living experience.
