BP has donated $1.1 million to the University of Leeds to fund three different
undergraduate awards available to students studying one of the 4-year MEng, MGeol and MGeophys courses detailed in the table below:

BP Scholarship - £2,000

If you are studying in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of one of the 4-year MEng, MGeol and MGeophys courses detailed in the table above you may be eligible to apply for the £2,000 award. To apply you need to have achieved a high academic standard i.e. a 2.1 average for the previous year of study or first term of study (for 1st years only).

The awards are for 1 year only, although you can reapply in the following year irrespective of whether you were successful or unsuccessful in a previous application.

There is no obligation on either party (BP or the award holders) to offer or accept any opportunities with BP during the course of study or after graduation.

BP Internship Awards - £2,000 + internship salary

Each year, BP offers a number of internship opportunities to students across the country. Students from Leeds will have the opportunity not only to apply for an internship, but also to apply for a £2,000 scholarship on top of any internship salary. If you are about to enter your penultimate year of a 4-year MEng, MGeol or MGeophys course (detailed in the table above) you can apply for the BP Internship Awards. These summer internships are great additions to your CV, so keep checking our pages for details of when recruitment for 2011 internships open.

BP Opportunity Awards - £5,000

These £5,000 awards are paid to final year students on selected 4-year MEng, MGeol and MGeophys courses. Eligible subjects are detailed in the table below.

To apply, you'll need to be in your penultimate year of study and you'll need to complete the online application form and test using a specially adapted section of the Graduate website

If you are successful you will be guaranteed a place at a BP Assessment Centre in the following autumn during your final academic year should you wish to attend. In addition, the 'top' students will qualify for the £5,000 Scholarship to be paid in their final year.
