Scholarships and bursaries

At Leeds we want to make it easy for everyone to learn without worrying about financial difficulties.

We offer a wide range of bursaries and scholarships, including the Leeds Bursary which is awarded to undergraduate UK students with a family income of £36,600 or less.

Scholarships at Leeds

Scholarships are awarded by the University, and are based on financial need and academic excellence. As an undergraduate student you could be eligible for one of our scholarships to support your studies. However, you must meet the eligibility criteria and relevant deadline. Unlike the Leeds Bursary our scholarships are highly competitive and there is a limited pot of funding available for each. You can apply to be considered for a scholarship before you receive confirmation of your place to study at the University.

All our scholarships require you to be a new, full-time UK undergraduate student, without prior experience of higher education and liable for full fees. All of the awards are non repayable.

We can't consider applications after the relevant deadline has passed so remember to check the closing dates and apply early.

Download our PDF guide to scholarships to find out more.

If you are a new full-time UK undergraduate beginning a non-NHS / NHSBSA (Business Services Authority) funded course you can apply for this funding which does not need to be repaid. You must be studying towards your first degree.
