By train

Leeds Station connects us with all major UK cities and has a fast and efficient London service. For train information, tickets and timetables visit the National Rail Enquiries website.

For the Open Day, we will be running a free bus service from Leeds Station to the University.  The first bus will leave the station at 8.30am, and the last bus back from the Parkinson Steps will depart at 4.30pm - buses will run every 10-15 minutes.  Please look out for our stand when you come through the ticket barriers.

Alternatively, pick up a directions sheet from one of our Student Ambassadors, and walk the short distance to the campus, though Leeds city centre.

By coach

By bus

There are a number of excellent bus services in Leeds. Visit the West Yorkshire Metro website and First Leeds for timetables and general information.

From the bus station, you can take bus number 6 to the University’s main entrance. From the city centre, the following buses will take you to the University’s main entrance: 1, 6, 28, 56, 95, and 97

From the South via M1
From the M1 follow signs for the M621 (Leeds City Centre)
  • From the M621, leave at Junction 3 (A653 / Leeds C / Holbeck)
  • Follow signs for City Centre
  • Continue under the train line; pass The Queens Hotel and Leeds Train Station on your left.  As the road splits, keep right
  • You are now on the loop road.  Continue on to pass the Town Hall (on your left)
  • From here the University is signposted; however please note that there is no parking available.  
  • Please see the car parking section below for advice on where to park.
From the North via A1 / M1
From the A1, continue to the M1. (Do not take routes via A58 or A64)
From the M1 exit at junction 44 onto the M621 (Leeds City Centre)
From the East via M62
At junction 29 of the M62 turn onto the M1 north.  From the M1 follow signs for the M621 (Leeds City Centre)
From the West via M62
Exit the M62 at junction 27 signposted Leeds M621 (Leeds City Centre)

Car parking

We advise all our Open Day visitors to use council owned car parks nearby or any of the shoppers' car parks in the city centre (parking charges will apply). Please remember that the car parks closest to the University will be the busiest.

Parking for disabled "blue badge" holders

We have a limited number of disabled parking bays available on campus, at a cost of £5 per day. If you are a blue badge holder and require parking, please email opendays@leeds.ac.uk to reserve a space.
