Through the student enterprise offer at the University of Leeds our students can become entrepreneurial leaders of the future. Our specialist enterprise courses and discovery modules, enterprising opportunities and dedicated start-up support will help you to turn your ideas into a reality.
We work with growing businesses to support economic development and are one of only three universities to achieve the Small Business Charter Gold Award. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can access our knowledge transfer, consultancy services and Small Business Centre.
Our InTechnology Enterprise Incubator provides on-campus support for start-ups from SPARK business support team, which also helps our graduates up to seven years after graduation.
Our staff and postgraduate researchers are supported to develop their enterprise skills by two specialist units the Staff and Departmental Development Unit (SDDU) and the Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Studies.
Our commercialisation activities have a very strong track record of innovation through our research, creating over 100 spin-out companies since 1995. Currently, our 34 spin-out companies employ over 400 people and our seven stock market listed spin-outs have a market value of over £500 million.
