Facilities and support University accommodation is guaranteed for all single students both during their International Foundation Year and during their undergraduate course at Leeds (when applying on time). You will be sent details about accommodation when you are offered a place on the International Foundation Year. International Foundation Year students enjoy all the benefits and support available to Leeds students. This means that you can use all the University facilities that an undergraduate can use including the libraries, computing clusters. laboratories, sports centres and the Students' Union. Your health and welfare during the International Foundation Year are of the utmost importance. As a registered student you will have full access to the Leeds Student Medical Practice and while studying on the International Foundation Year you will be assigned a Personal Tutor who will be available to discuss any problems that might occur and to offer help, advice and encouragement. The University has an International Student Office, which provides information, advice, social activities and general support for students and their families on a wide range of matters, including arrival arrangements, settling in, immigration, safety, healthcare, making friends, study skills, adapting to life in the UK, working in the UK, and so on . The Student Union has a Welfare Officer who also provides guidance and advice on matters such as housing, finance and immigration.
