Immigration and Visas
The International Student Office provides a specialist immigration advice service to help you with your immigration questions while you are a student at the University of Leeds.
We can provide you with advice and information on:
- Student applications made in the UK or in your home country.
- Student dependant applications made in the UK or in your home country.
- Family visit visas. For example if your parents want to attend your graduation.
- Schengen visas if you are travelling in Europe for study or tourism.
- Visa correction. If there is a mistake on the expiry date on your visa.
- ATAS registration.
- Registering with the police.
- Working during your studies.
- Working after your studies.
You can ask your question by emailing us, by attending a drop in session or, for more complicated questions and having your extension application checked, by attending an appointment with an adviser. Please see below.

Drop-in Sessions
You can attend a drop-in to ask an adviser a quick question. There is a drop-in session every day at 2.00pm in the International Student Office. Drop-ins can be very busy so please arrive early.
Appointments
You can book an appointment with an adviser to ask more detailed questions and to have student or student dependant applications checked. Please book an appointment by coming into the office between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
