Virtual seminars

For the past four years WUN virtual seminars have provided an excellent forum for eminent academics to present their work to an international audience and for staff and students to benefit from international transfer of knowledge via leading academics in their field. The format of the online lectures have enabled lively question and answer discussions to take place across an international audience.

For an overview of virtual seminars and full details of upcoming events please go to the WUN website at www.wun.ac.uk/virtualseminars.php

"I did not expect myself to be a regular attendee, but the sense of community provided by the virtual seminars attracted me to go back week after week because my research topic is neither the research area of my supervisor nor the department. As a communications student, I take communications technology for granted, but I still became thrilled at the get-togetherness across space and time. Besides the talks, I enjoyed questions in the end, because I was able to see the community right here in front of me."
Emma, PhD student.

"By being able to link up together with other leading institutes I've been able to go to lectures by respected academics, sometimes whose textbooks we read!, to hear them talk about their latest work and ideas. The best thing is they are a taster on the topic but with up to date facts by the academics who are working on it now. And you can question them about it afterwards!"
Christopher, MA student.
