About Us
Who we are: The Korea Research Hub (KRH) was created in June 2007 as joint project between Korean studies experts from the University of Sheffield and University of Leeds. KRH membership is, however, open to all those with an expressed and qualified interest in Korean studies.
Objectives: Our main objective is to establish a platform to further promote Korean Studies in Britain and other parts of Europe. The creation of this website is the first step towards realising this objective.
Expertise: Our combined expertise covers a variety of Korea-related subject areas, including business, economics, security issues, diplomacy, international relations, culture, sociology, anthropology, literature, history, music and film studies, and contemporary Korean society.
Resources: Our website will provide an increasing range of resources for others interested in Korea including:
- Downloadable research papers and other materials written or commissioned by KRH members
- Links to other web-based resources on Korea
- Information on sources of grant funding for Korean studies
- News page for posting up development in and comments on Korea related issues
- For business, government and NGOs: details on the consultancy expertise and experience of KRH members
- For media: contact points for KRH experts on particular subjects relating to Korea
- For PhD students: details on the supervisory expertise of KRH scholars and their past and current PhD students
The interactive nature of our website will encourage and facilitate networking among Koreanists worldwide. |
