The Library has some of the UK's outstanding collections of rare books and manuscripts. Nearly 200,000 books and hundreds of thousands of manuscripts can be consulted in the Fay and Geoffrey Elliott Reading Room. Special Collections includes the Leeds University Archive, which is housed separately.
