My role

As Student Experience Officer, my role is to ensure that students studying with the Lifelong Learning Centre and mature students from across the University are having an excellent experience during their time at Leeds. I work with the Student Support Officer, Student Experience Assistants and wider Lifelong Learning Centre team to organise events and workshops throughout the year to support students outside of their studies. I also work with our Course and School Reps to ensure that student voice plays a key role in our decision making and the services we deliver.

I completed my undergraduate and Masters degrees at Leeds and also worked as an elected Student Union Officer after my studies so I'm very passionate about the wide range of opportunities and support that are available for students here.

Student Experience extends much wider than teaching programmes and encompasses all of the activity surrounding a students' studies that allows them to thrive and feel a sense of belonging at the University.

We have a really diverse body of students within the Lifelong Learning Centre and we recognise that starting at university as a mature, part-time or Foundation Year student can be a different experience, so much of my work is about creating opportunities for students to build connections and feel part of a supportive community.
