|
Sandy holds a European PhD in Economics from GREQAM in the University of Aix-Marseille (France). Her PhD concerned inequalities in health in France with particular interest in the measurement of health, the measurement tools for inequalities in health and the analysis of inequalities in health. She has particularly tried to identify how an individual's current conditions, as well as social background and parents’ longevity influence health in adulthood.
She was a doctoral research fellow for three years in IRDES, a large multidisciplinary institute for research and information in health economics in Paris. She assisted Prof. Lise Rochaix in a European-funded project, known as the ECuity III Project. In 2007, she obtained a Lavoisier grant from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue her research at the Centre for Health Economics at York University.
