Why Study this Course

Leeds Institute of Health Sciences offers a range of challenging postgraduate Public Health programmes. We aim to provide our students with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to work as skilled Public Health professionals within the public, voluntary or private sectors. To achieve this we provide for our students the opportunity to study a broad range of material from across all domains of Public Health provision.

The Leeds MPH aims to:

  • Introduce students to the main scientific disciplines that contribute to modern Public Health.
  • Develop students’ abilities for self directed learning and a critical approach to problem solving.
  • Foster an environment for reappraisal of students’ own professional norms and values.

A critical understanding of Public Policy is at the core of all our programmes, ensuring that today's University of Leeds MPH graduate can be tomorrow's Public Health leader.

Progressing to The Leeds MPH via a Certificate or Diploma in Public Health

Prospective students, initially at least, may not want or need to take on a full Master of Public Health programme therefore we offer prospective students the option to complete a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from which students can progress to the Diploma or Master of Public Health programmes.
