Leeds Institute of Health Sciences

Leeds Family Therapy & Research Centre

For over twenty years LFTRC has been training therapists to help individuals, couples and families find ways of tackling their problems. The people we have worked with may have been through many changes but so have we! We learn a great deal from the people we meet in both the clinical and training and research settings.

We have seen many trainees pass successfully through our formal training in systemic therapy, which comprises Foundation, Intermediate and Qualification/ MSc Levels, and Supervisor Training. Please look at our Course Overview for more specific details of our training courses.

In addition we run short courses for our colleagues in related professions such as the Introduction to Family therapy and Systemic Practice and Consultation to Organisations. We also design deliver courses to meet the specific requirements of colleagues in Social Work, Primary Care, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Youth Offending Teams, Psychiatry and the Voluntary Sector.

Please follow the links of Foundation, Intermediate, Postgraduate Certificate, MSc and Supervision Course for detailed course information.

Note also the Association for Family Therapy web pages at www.aft.org.uk which have a wealth of further information on training.
