We provide a secure web site on the Internet so that you can arrange appointments, order repeat prescriptions and update your contact details. The EMIS Access web site is usually available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which means you don't have to fit in with our opening hours to use these services
It is simple to arrange access to EMIS Access!
- You must be a fully registered patient
- Come to our Reception and ask for an EMIS Access PIN
- You will need to show some photo identification, for example your University of Leeds student ID card so we can verify your identity
- We will give you a letter with one-time registration codes on
- Use these codes on the EMIS Access secure web site to register and create a password
- Once you've registered you use two codes and a password to log on and make appointments, request repeat prescriptions, and update contact details
SECURITY NOTICE
It is your responsibility to ensure that your EMIS Access details are
not used by anyone else. Any misuse of the service will result in your
access being withdrawn. If you lose your security details, contact us
straight away by telephone. If you think someone has used your login without your permission contact us so we can block your current access and give you new login codes
Appointments
Once you've logged in you will be able to see a selection of available appointments with doctors. To book an appointment simply click on the time you want, and confirm
If we have your mobile telephone number we will send you an SMS text reminder about the appointment 24 hours before. If you no longer need the appointment you can cancel it by replying 'cancel' to the text, or by logging into EMIS Access and cancelling it (please make the effort to cancel your appointment if you don't need it, someone else will certainly be able to make use of it!)
At the moment we don't offer nurse appointments through EMIS Access. This is because nurses generally book different amounts of time for different procedures, and this is difficult to manage on-line. We are reviewing this at the moment and hope to offer some nurse appointments on-line in the future
Repeat prescriptions
If one of the doctors here has authorised for you to receive repeat prescriptions then you will be able to view and order them on EMIS Access at a time that fits in with you
EMIS Access will inform you that your request is 'Awaiting action'
until we have read your request, at which point the status will change
to 'Accepted'. In most cases as long as one full working day has passed
after your request, your prescription will be ready for collection. If there is a problem, for example your medication review is due, we
will not be able to issue the prescription until you have seen a doctor for a medication review. We will do our best to contact you if there are any problems
Please
ensure the contact details shown in EMIS Access include a telephone number,
and current e-mail address
Contact information
You can use EMIS Access to let us know about changes of address or telephone number
Address: Your address may appear in an abbreviated format on
this screen, this is because our EMIS computer system limits the address
field to a specific width, which affects addresses for University accommodation.
If you address is abbreviated there is no need to change it unless it
is technically incorrect (i.e. flat number missing)
Telephone number: If you are entering a new mobile number please enter it into the 'phone' field not the mobile field - which makes it easier for us to see in the practice
E-mail: please provide a current University
e-mail address if you are using our repeat prescription
request service, in case we need to contact you about a problem with your prescription request
Help!
EMIS Access is simple and straight forward to use so the guidance contained on this page,
and on the sheet we give you when you request registration, should enable
you to use EMIS Access without difficulty. There are additional help screens available within EMIS Access
Unresponsive: The screens time-out quite quickly, and may appear unresponsive, in which case simply close the window, open a new window then log back in
Forgotten PIN: If you forget your login details we will need to issue you with a new PIN, and you will then need to re-register
with the new details - come to Reception and tell them you have
'lost your EMIS Access PIN'. You will need to show us photo ID (passport or authorised student card). We will issue you with new access codes and instructions, you can then connect to
the web site at any time and register again
