Flu vaccination sessions
We offer free vaccination for patients needing Influenza vaccination. For 2011/2012 the vaccine offers protection against flu and swine flu in one combined vaccination. This means; there is no separate swine flu vaccination, it is not possible to receive protection against flu without receiving protection against swine flu, and vice-versa
You must be in one of the following categories to be eligible to receive Flu vaccination free from the NHS:
- Respiratory disease (for example asthma)
- Heart disease
- Diabetes
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- History of Stroke or TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack)
- Multiple Sclerosis and other Central Nervous System diseases (including Epilepsy)
- Immunocompromised (for example, no spleen, HIV, receiving cancer therapy)
- Pregnant
- Carer (of someone in an at-risk group)
- Over 65 years of age
- Patients on certain medicines that affect immunosuppression
The sessions below are drop-in, which means you can simply turn up without an appointment and receive a vaccination:
- Wednesday 25 January - 14:00 to 15:00 - Flu (drop-in, no appointment needed)
- Wednesday 8 February - 14:00 to 15:00 - Flu (drop-in, no appointment needed)
If you cannot attend one of these drop-in sessions you can make an appointment with a nurse instead, at a time that suits you. To check availability and book an appointment for a Flu vaccination with a Practice Nurse telephone Reception on 0113 295 4488
See our separate pages if you are looking for information about Swine Flu (Influenza A), or about Colds and Flu
Patients who do not fulfil the eligibility criteria above, but want to be vaccinated, can choose to attend a high street pharmacy (such as Boots, Superdrug, Lloyds), where they can pay for the vaccination, and receive it there
