Listening Service
Person to Person is a drop-in listening service for anyone who is worried, anxious or distressed and wishes to speak to someone in confidence. We can offer advice about other organisations in the city that may be able to help you
Person to Person is not a professional counselling service but all volunteers are experienced listeners
Person to Person is based at Oxford Place Methodist Church between the Combined Courts and the Town Hall, at the end of The Headrow, Leeds
Open: Monday to Friday 10:00-14:00
(except Christmas, Bank Holidays and August).

- We can also offer advice about other organisations in the city
- Person to Person is not a professional counselling organisation, but all volunteers have a lot of experience in ‘listening’ roles
- Anyone who wants to talk can come
- You may be searching for professional counselling/therapy and not know where to start. We hold up-to-date information on many of the local agencies within the city and may be able to point you in the right direction
- You may be waiting for an appointment for counselling/therapy and want to talk in the interim period
- You may feel lonely and isolated and want to talk to someone
- You may feel suddenly anxious and want to speak to someone immediately
- You don’t have to have an appointment, just come
- Ring the bell outside the Person to Person room on arrival and the volunteer will see you as soon as possible
- You may have to wait a short while if the volunteer is seeing another person
- All volunteers are sympathetic to the Christian faith. Issues of religion, spirituality and faith will not be discussed, unless raised by the visitor
