Patient Participation Group & patient surveys

MeetingWe created our first patient participation group in February 2006

The group provides a route for patients to provide feedback on our current services, and opinion on prospective future services

In 2011 the Government allowed new methods to be introduced for practices to seek their patient's opinions. This was a great improvement for us, as the method used from 2006 to 2011 of the Primary Care Trust posting questionnaires out to our patients did not work well. This was because very few patients completed and returned the questionnaires - so the results did not give a true reflection of our work (for example, 898 questionnaires sent out, 55 returned - 7% response rate - with some questions being answered by just 9 people)

From 2011 onwards we plan to use e-mail, facebook, twitter and on-line questionnaires to seek our patient's opinions. We ran a survey on our appointment systems in June and July 2011, conducted on patients attending the practice, and had a 100% response rate. You can view the results below
