Leeds Student Medical Practice is a Maritime and Coastguard Agency designated examination centre for
citizens wishing to obtain or renew their ENG1 Fit To Sail certificate. The contents of this page relate

Please leave a message if she is unable to answer, and she will return your call at the earliest opportunity. Ged is presently out of the office on Wednesdays, and the best time to speak with her directly is usually between 11:30 to 16:00, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, or 08:00 to 14:00 on Fridays Before calling to book an appointment please make sure:

THE PROCESS - What does the Seafarer's medical involve? When you arrive at our building you will report to the Reception desk, where a Receptionist will book you in and direct you to the consulting room If this is your first Seafarer's medical you will also need an audiogram (hearing test), which will take 25 minutes and will be done before the medical. This will be done by a Health Care Assistant The Medical takes around 40 minutes, and will be performed by Dr Paul Hudson We will take some basic measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and the doctor will go through your medical history, and provide a physical examination, including a sight test. Dr Hudson is a male doctor, if you would like a female chaperone present during the medical we can provide one Car parking is available at the Practice. See below for map and directions At the end of the medical if you are eligible to receive your ENG1 you will be able to take it away with you If you need any other relevant medical certificates signing we will be able to do this subject to payment of an additional fee |
