THE PROCESS - What does the Seafarer's medical involve?

When you arrive at our building you will report to the Reception desk, where a Receptionist will book you in and direct you to the consulting room

If this is your first Seafarer's medical you will also need an audiogram (hearing test), which will take 25 minutes and will be done before the medical. This will be done by a Health Care Assistant

The Medical takes around 40 minutes, and will be performed by Dr Paul Hudson

We will take some basic measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and the doctor will go through your medical history, and provide a physical examination, including a sight test. Dr Hudson is a male doctor, if you would like a female chaperone present during the medical we can provide one

Car parking is available at the Practice. See below for map and directions

At the end of the medical if you are eligible to receive your ENG1 you will be able to take it away with you

If you need any other relevant medical certificates signing we will be able to do this subject to payment of an additional fee

  3. Name address and telephone number of GP (if not supplied at time of booking)
  4. Any Medicines that have been prescribed
  5. Glasses/contact lenses if worn including spares. You must not wear contact lenses on the day of the medical so your eyes are prepared for the test
