Mass Spectrometry for Biologists and Biochemists

This course will consist of a series of four 2 hour sessions covering the principles and theory of mass spectrometry, including a guide for sample preparation. There will be a strong emphasis on the wide range of biological applications of this technique including molecular weight measurement, non-covalently bound complex characterisation, measurement of cross sectional area by ion mobility spectrometry-mass spectrometry, and protein identification using proteomics approaches.

The dates of the course are as follows:

7, 14, 21 and 28 November.

All sessions will be in the Garstang seminar room between 14.00 and 16.00. PLEASE NOTE - if you sign up, you need to attend all sessions.
