Preparing for your transfer
All Provisional PhD and MD students are subject to a process whereby they are formally assessed and, if successful in the assessment, are transferred to a specific degree category.
This half-day workshop for 1st year students will allow participants to
understand what is required in the process of transfer and how they can
maximise the effectiveness of their preparation. It is tailored for
students in the Faculty of Medicine & Health. Topics covered in the workshop:
• What is a PhD/MD transfer viva?
• Transfer report writing and format
• The PhD/MD Transfer Viva
• What happens next?
• A student perspective
The workshop will be a mixture of input from the tutors and group
discussion. The views of a student who has recently completed a PhD/MD
transfer viva will be heard and there will be plenty of opportunity for
questions.
