Graduate School Training Opportunities
A wide range of generic skills training is provided for research students and this forms an important component of your degree candidature. This year, the Faculty Graduate School will be organising a number of new generic and research skill courses / workshops. You will receive further information about the dates of these courses / workshops in due course. We are currently offering workshops in four different areas:
Knowledge and Intellectual Abilities, Personal Effectiveness, Research Governance and Organisation, and Engagement, Influence and Impact
Many courses are shared with the Faculty of Biological Sciences - members of Medicine and Health are welcome on FBS-led courses and vice versa.
Other providers of training include ISS - please check this link for course dates and note that these courses tend to book up quickly. Please note that if ISS courses are fully booked you should email itistraining@leeds.ac.uk and ask to be put on the course ‘waiting list’. This will ensure that if a place becomes available on that course then you will be offered a place. Alternatively, you can ask to be ‘pre-booked’ onto the next course and you will be advised when the next course is scheduled.
More upcoming workshops are listed here.
Recently held courses are listed here. These will run again in future.
How to book a workshop
Bookings are taken by email. Please click the email link and provide us with your full name, school, department or institute, programme of study (or staff status), and details of any special requirements (e.g. disabled access, prayer room). By emailing your booking you are also agreeing to our Terms and Conditions. We will respond to your booking within 48 hours, and you will receive details of the workshop venue about a week before it takes place.
