Academic fees

The academic fee covers normal tuition and examination costs, as well as membership of the Student Union.  Details of fees are given with offer letters, International students should note that they may be required to pay a higher fee than UK students as the fees for UK and EU students are subsidised by the UK government. International students, especially those undertaking scientific projects may be required to pay research costs in addition to the academic tuition fees.

Fees must be paid in full before you can register as a postgraduate student, unless you are to be a self-supporting student, in which case you may pay your fees in two instalments. The first instalment is payable at registration.

Students who are supported by their governments, employers, or other sponsors will require a letter from their sponsor addressed to the University confirming that the fees will be paid directly when they complete their registration. Sponsors cannot pay by instalments.

If you are unsure whether you are eligible for home/EU or international academic fees, you will need to undergo a fees assessment. Please complete the fees assessment form and return this as stated. The University will then confirm which level of academic fees you will be required to pay.
