International Activities
The Faculty of Medicine and Health is the largest Faculty at the University of Leeds and a key contributor to the University’s internationalism strategy. The aim of this strategy is to support the purpose of the university as a research-intensive international university with a strong enduring reputation striving to create, advance and disseminate knowledge, develop outstanding graduates and scholars and make a major impact on global society.
Internationalism is a key strength of the Faculty of Medicine and Health. We are committed to undertaking world-class research responsive to both local and international needs. Our staff engage in a wide range of activities with partners worldwide.
Our outstanding educational environment develops internationally aware graduates who are able to make significant contributions to global health. Our student body includes over 400 international students (from total of more than 4,000). Dedicated to broadening the horizons of all our students, we offer most of our undergraduates the opportunity to study abroad as part of their course.
The Faculty’s International Strategy and the accompanying action plan is a key driver for our International Activities. Developed by our International Committee, it covers areas such as Learning and Teaching, Research and Knowledge Transfer.
One of our key strategic aims is to develop a long-term relationship with a low-middle income country in order to build both health and education capacity. This reflects the University’s values of making a major impact on global society.
