Medical students are expected to pay a contribution of their own fees and living expenses, just like any undergraduate. Many medical students experience financial stress despite the national arrangements for student loans, especially in the later years of their course.
An applicant’s financial resources will not be assessed as part of the application process, save for mature and international students who will be asked to provide written guarantees as explained elsewhere. The time available for part-time employment is very limited, especially during the later years of the course, and a need for such work will not excuse poor attendance of academic performance. All applicants are therefore advised to carefully consider their finances during the course.
Further information on fees can be obtained from the Fees Office website.
