Assessment and Learning in Practice Settings (ALPS) is a HEFCE-funded Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning which aims to ensure that students graduating from courses in health and social care are fully equipped to perform confidently and competently at the start of their professional careers.
ALPS undertakes a wide range of activities, from training professional educators to research into healthcare education. Many of these impact upon medical students at the University of Leeds - for example in the exciting mobile technologies project, in which many of our fourth-year students have been provided with a PDA and software to assist learning in clinical placements.
