Readership

Medicine Matters is the School of Medicine’s magazine for its alumni, the staff and current students of the School and the medical research institutes in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Leeds and also affiliated honorary teaching and research staff. It is also circulated internally within the University of Leeds and elsewhere for general readership.
Medicine Matters is also published on-line on the School of Medicine website and editions published since July 2007 may be accessed there.

Purpose

Medicine Matters aims to inform readers of current research and teaching activities in the school and promote and report events. It also provides news of the achievements of staff and students, both past and present. It also promotes the School in general.

Articles for submission

Feature articles on current research or teaching should:

  • Be of a maximum of 1600 words and illustrated.
  • Consider that their readership is knowledgeable but non-specialist.
  • Be clear and the information provided be of general interest.

News and Reports should be between 100 and 500 words and normally illustrated. Shorter news items and reports are also welcome.

Letters to the Editor and book reviews are welcome.

Images for publication are to be in digital format and captioned.
