This series is being coordinated by the University of Leeds, with researchers at the Universities of Stirling and at Birkbeck, University of London. The seminars explore how doctors, social workers, psychotherapists and police officers make the transition to independent critical decision-making.

- Clinical Teaching Excellence Awards
Leeds Institute of Medical Education is keen to encourage and reward excellent undergraduate clinical teaching across the NHS in West Yorkshire and to support the development of medical and dental staff in this area.
Six annual awards of £2000 are available to NHS employees who are hospital consultants, specialty grade doctors or dentists, specialty registrars, GPs, dental practitioners, and other healthcare staff, or teams, to support their further development in an area of clinical teaching. Applicants need to be currently teaching Leeds medical or dental students and be planning to continue. This award is not open to University employees.
- Leeds strikes bronze in the 2011 Medicine National Student Survey
The results of the 2011 National Student Survey have now been published and they show that 97% of our final year medical students are satisfied with their experience at Leeds School of Medicine - up 12% from last year’s survey.
- Student Support Conference - Wednesday 30th November
Responding to the challenge of supporting the struggling medical student: evidence into best practice
The conference will highlight the latest research and theories that can inform the effective support of struggling medical students. There will be a mix of short presentations and interactive workshops so that experiences can be shared and new solutions considered.
