Medical students at Leeds School of Medicine have a range of opportunities for involvement with the local community in all phases of the course. Students are encouraged to adopt a holistic approach which encourages them to think more widely than the medical model, and also about the social and psychological impacts upon health.

Community Podcasts
We are hoping to develop a 'community bank' of 10 minute podcasts by voluntary sector groups in Leeds for medical students and the wider community. The first two have now been made and are available for you to listen to.
Kath Grogan, STOP. Podcast: Part 1 | Part 2
One is from STOP (Start Treating Others Positively) who work around anger management issues for men and women in the city and some of their clients include perpetrators of domestic violence. Kathy Grogan, The STOP Manager talks about their work and techniques for managing and controlling anger.
David Proudlove, Carers UK, Leeds Branch. Podcast: Part 1 | Part 2
In the second podcast, David Proudlove, Chair, Carers UK (Leeds Branch) talks about their campaigning work on behalf of carers and offers some useful statistics plus David also draws upon his own experience as a carer. Both of the podcasts are in two parts and we will add to the 'community bank' as more podcasts are made. We hope you will find these podcasts both interesting and useful.
