Airedale General Hospital

Rehabilitation services on the border between West and North Yorkshire are based at Airedale General Hospital, Steeton.

The Department of Rehabilitation is located in the 28 bed Stroke Unit where acute management and rehabilitation, continuing inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient services are coordinated. A specialist rehabilitation assessment clinic is also held in conjunction with specialist rehabilitation staff from the local Primary Care Trusts. The Department also includes:

  • acquired brain injury and amputee rehabilitation services
  • botulinum toxin clinics for spasticity and dystonia
  • intrathecal phenol clinics

Students from Leeds participate in the rehabilitation and musculoskeletal teaching programme at Airedale General Hospital. We are part of the Stroke United Network Yorkshire research group and are participating in the Cannabinoids in Progressive Multiple Sclerosis Trial.
